Last year, 2018, Ric separated from his long term model wife, was inducted in to the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame with The Cars and also went on a tour with his paintings.

He will be missed, as he was a legendary artist.  Here is an article with more information.

Fri, 13 Sep 2019 20:44:38 +0000 https://www.997classicrock.com/on-air/blogs/wild-april-skyes-blog/post/hanging-with-eddie-money/ 141-833187-5d7bffb1e788e April Skye Daily Show Eddie Money also known as the hardest working man in Rock and Roll lost his battle with Cancer today on 9/13/2019 at the age of 70 years old.   I remember back in August of 2012 when I did an interview with him, since he was going to be playing the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk that night.  When the Tulare County Fair came around on September 12, 2014 Eddie came and played.  He was an amazing man with a huge heart.  He was so wonderful with my son Brandon who has Autism.  Eddie explained that he also has a relative with special needs and people with special needs hold a place in his heart.  

I was shocked when I learned of his Stage 4 esophageal cancer not long back, I was floored to come into work this morning to find out he had passed away.  Earlier this year in May he had a minor heart procedure and ended up with some pneumonia complications.  This actually caused the doctors to have to postpone his cancer treatment.  I know he fought the best he could. 

He will be missed so much!  He is one of my favorite rockers!  Click here to listen to the interview!

Fri, 13 Sep 2019 15:14:23 +0000 https://www.997classicrock.com/on-air/blogs/wild-april-skyes-blog/post/eddie-money-has-lost-his-battle-with-cancer/ 141-833187-5d7bb24ba4179 April Skye Daily Show Legendary Eddie Money aka The Money Man passed away this morning.  This past year he has had many health problems and it was reported that during treatment for pneumonia, his treatment for Stage 4 Esophageal Cancer had to be postponed.  His cancer was recently announced and fans all over send well wished for him to make a full recovery.  While I am sure that he fought hard, cancer won that battle.  He will be missed but his spirit will live on as we have his music to remember him by.

I remember at the Tulare County Fair a few years ago I introduced his concert.  He was the sweetest man and took extra time to talk with my son who has Autism.  He stated he had a special needs person in his family and a special place in his heart for people like Brandon.

We need to learn more how to fight Stage 4 Cancer...many cancers end up Stage 4, specifically breast and there is hardly any research in to how to help it.  This is a very interesting website that talks about it.  Please take the time to read it and share.  Click here to read it.

The Deputy Jeremy W. Meyst Memorial Highway will be on Ben Maddox Way from the Visalia/County line just north of the St. Johns River to Avenue 328.

 Deputy Meyst was killed in a single vehicle accident in an inmate transport van on Dec. 24, 2013 on Road 204, south of Highway 198 near the Friant Kern Canal Bridge.

He was raised in Visalia and graduated from Mt. Whitney High School in 2001. Deputy Meyst was hired by the Tulare County Sheriff*s Office in October of 2004 as a Detention Services Officer.  In April of 2006, he was promoted to Correctional Deputy.  His last assignment was at the Sheriff*s Main Jail.

Deputy Meyst is survived by his mother, Judy Meyst; his father, Gerald Meyst; his wife Sarah; and two sons, Joshua and Eric.
